TL Reeve, a bestselling, multi-published author with Cobblestone Press, Decadent Publishing, Evernight Publishing, and Loose-Id, was born out of a love of family and a bond that became unbreakable. Living in Alabama, TL misses Los Angeles, and will one-day return to the beaches of Southern California to ride the waves at Huntington Beach. When not writing something hot and sexy, TL can be found curled up with a good book, or working on homework with a cute little pixie.
Tell us a little about your newest release:
My newest release was with my writing partner Michele. We have been wanting to tell this story for a while. In fact, we know our characters so well, we can tell you their whole life, where they came from and everyone surrounding them. We love them that much. Unrequited Mate is a second chance love and a New Adult story, so a step up from YA. It is set at Turnskin University, which is a play on “shifters”, and we have fun with it. Nico and Hayden participate in the Greek Shifter Games, which is to help each fraternity and sorority gain members while also helping charities of their choice.
Here is the blurb: Welcome to Trueskin University… Hayden Raferty, left behind her entire family and all her friends to get away from her mate, Nico Lopez. In a single night, he crushed her hopes and dreams of finding true love. Now, years later, Hayden has decided to move on and start over. Nico Lopez knows he screwed up, but letting his mate walk away isn’t in his plans. It’s time to make his move. With a little help from 555-ROAR, Nico obtains a spot in the Greek Shifter Games and is determined to show his mate there isn’t another male worthy of her. If has to put his body on the line to prove it, so be it.
What story first hooked you as a reader?
The Shinning. I am fascinated by how many people say Stephen King got them into reading and writing, because he is one of my favorites, and my dream is to meet him one day.
When did you know you first HAD to write?
About two years after my daughter was born. I started with fanfic and role play, so it just seemed, for me, a logical jump into writing. It wasn’t easy though. I think, this is one profession, you really need to keep an open mind, and have thick skin.
How do you deal with real-life distractions (job, kids, cats, birds chirping…)?
Music. Actually, the last few months I have hardly done any writing. With kiddo going into the hospital for surgery, I couldn’t find my happy writing place. Now…I’m getting my groove back.
What’s your morning beverage of choice?
What’s the thing that most excites you about all the changes that have happened in publishing in the last five years?
Diversity. I think there are so many different genres and different sub-genres that it makes it interesting to see what will be coming next. Also, I started writing when LGTBQ books were still new and not mainstream. Heck, I have/had publishers who didn’t allow f/f, but would allow m/m AND menage was strictly m/f/m to see the leaps and bounds made…it gives me hope.
