  1. What story first hooked you as a reader?

Chronicles of Narnia was the first chapter books I ever read courtesy of a teacher in grade 3. The vivid imagery and the fantastical world entranced me as a child and began my love affair with books. From that moment on, I didn’t just read, I inhaled stories.

2. What excites you most about your current work-in-progress?

I’m always excited about every project, until I hit the middle and hate it. With a passion. Lol. There is a certain relief to sit down and type out a new tale, the words bubbling forth, skipping over each other in a mad dash to get out. Then there’s the doubt to deal with as you then develop that first rush and wonder if it’s any good. Is it gripping? The characters believable and well developed? Then, because it’s usually something paranormal, creating a satisfying conclusion without making everyone in to a super duper hero that fixes everything. By the end, I usually love it again. Mostly. Lol. Right now I’m working on a new Lion’s Pride book, When A Lioness Growls. Tropical paradise will never be the same after fiery Stacey drops in for a visit.

3. Introvert or Extrovert? How does this affect your work?

Introvert. I really don’t like going out to the point I will make excuses. Once out and about I can be very social. I don’t know that it affects my work though. Then again, people watching is fun.

4. How do you deal with real-life distractions (job, kids, cats, birds chirping…)?

Argh-ing out loud a lot. Lol. I’ve also developed an Exorcism style of spinning my head to glare at interruptions while still typing. Freaks my family right out.

5. What’s your morning beverage of choice?

Coffee! Usually two cups, then it’s water for the rest of the day.

6. What’s the thing that most excites you about all the changes that have happened in publishing in the last five years?

I think it’s exciting that we’re seeing so many new genres and voices emerging in the last few years. Stories that once wouldn’t have been told now have a voice. But at the same time, that influx of books has made it harder to find what we want if that makes any sense lol. I think online stores have made excellent strides in making stories available, now they just need to fine tune their categorization and search engines lol.

7. What’s the most common ‘theme’ found in your stories?

Romance? Lol. I’ve written so many stories, I don’t know if I could say there is any one hardcore theme. I do often have an opposites attract type romance, and sometimes the villain in one book will end up a hero in another. But because my mind is always bouncing around in different directions, my stories often follow different paths. At least I hope so! lol
