If you’ve found your way here, you’re a reader. Probably of erotic romance. We’re writers of the same, but we are readers too. There’s nothing we love more than to talk spicy plots, sexy games, and hungry heroes. We hope this is a place where you feel comfortable doing that too! So here’s a little about some of us to get the conversation rolling! Feel free to introduce yourself, tell us your favorite things to read about, and follow the blog for notifications of lots of upcoming fun stuff, including our Independence Celebration Scavenger Hunt!
Nona Raines became hooked on romances when she first picked up The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss (and she’s not telling how long ago that was). Romances may have changed since then, but her love for a good love story has not. Her transgender romance His Kind of Woman was nominated for the 2014 DABWAHA sponsored by Dear Author and Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. Her most recent work is the erotic romance novella, Read to Me. Nona lives in upstate New York with her many pets and works on her next novel between walking the dog and shooing the cats off the laptop.
~ My maternal grandparents worked as butler and cook for silent film star Pearl White.
~ I played the cello as a kid. (*skreech, skreech*)
~ I took up roller skating as an adult.
~ I dressed up as a pizza chef to encourage kids to read.
~ I once found a lost kitten on a country road and caught her in my hat (she lives with me now).
At the age of nine Leela Lou Dahlin started reading the romance novels her grandmother left around the house during her summer vacations. She learned early that she enjoyed the type of story that made you feel like you had fluttering butterflies in your stomach and brought tears to your eyes. Leela tries to create the emotional and endearing stories she adored as a child and continues to love to this day. She resides in SW Pennsylvania, working as an RN case manager during the day and spinning her sweetly sexy stories by night.
~ My mother got her Ph.D in Education and specialized as a reading specialist
~ I was her thesis. I learned to read when I was 3 years old. ~ I have a thing about cherries being the sweetest the weekend of the Fourth of July. (Eat some now and then again that weekend – they are at their peak) I gorge myself on cherries that weekend. Every year.
~ There are times my characters wake me up at night with a story to tell. It’s usually not the story I’m working on at the time. So I have long drawn out snippets of future stories that usually are the start to my next story.
~ Growing up I’ve lived in Guam, St. Louis Mo, Tempe AZ and Indianapolis IN before coming to Pittsburgh PA in 7th grade. I’ve always wanted to live in North Carolina.
~ I enjoy making things with my hands. It helps me think.
Bonus – I’m a RN case manager but before I’d found my niche I worked primarily with Maternity/Women’s Health but also Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Rehab (drug and physical), Med-Surg and Mental Health.
